Jakarta, June 26, 2026 – Students of the Communication science at the Faculty of Communication and Informatics (FKI) Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) have once again achieved remarkable success at the national level. In the SILAT APIK PTMA 2026 event (Silaturahmi Asosiasi Pendidikan Ilmu Komunikasi Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah dan Aisyiyah) held from June 24-26, 2026, at Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA), Jakarta, the Communication Studies delegation from UMS successfully brought home several awards from various competition categories.
The SILAT APIK PTMA event is an academic networking forum as well as a space for developing the competencies of students in the field of communication studies within the Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA). This event brings together students from various campuses to compete, collaborate, and exchange ideas and experiences.
In the 2026 event, UMS Communication Science students achieved impressive results across various competition categories.
In the AI Generated Content Poster Competition category, the UMS delegation successfully achieved:
Champion 1 – Agung Edy Sarwono Champion 2 – Zalfaa Akhmad Al Faruqi
Next, in the Community Based PR Campaign category, UMS Communication Science students received an award:
2nd Place Overall – Tasya Julia 3rd Place Overall – Azzahra Safa Nathaniela Maheswari 3rd Place Best Tactic Category – Zaky Mohammad Rizwar 2nd Place Best Tactic Category – Natasya Alexander AY 3rd Place Best Problem Solving Category – Khansa Qonitatillah B
Achievements were also attained in the Photography category, namely:
2nd Place in the MSME Category – Rakha Muhammad Fajar Kurniawan 2nd Place in the Lifestyle Category – Mitnal Jibran
Meanwhile, in the Short Semi-Documentary category, UMS Communication Science students successfully achieved:
Overall Champion – Muhammad Amar Mujahid
One of the delegates, Mitnal Jibran, a 2024 Communication Studies student at UMS and the 2nd place winner in the Lifestyle category, expressed gratitude for the opportunity provided by the bachelor degree program.
“Thank you to the Communication Science of the Faculty of Communication and Informatics for facilitating students to participate in the SILAT APIK PTMA 2026 Delegation.” “I am very happy to be able to participate in this event because I gained a lot of experience and expanded my network with students from various PTMA campuses. My friends and I are also proud to be able to achieve the best for Communication Science, FKI, and UMS,” he said.
Mitnal hopes that this achievement can serve as motivation for other students to continue developing their potential and to dare to participate in competitions at a broader level.
“Hopefully, in the future, more Communication Science students will participate in national and international competitions and continue to uphold the good name of our beloved Communication Science,” he added.
This achievement is proof that UMS Communication Science students excel not only in the classroom learning process but also demonstrate creativity, strategic abilities, and competitiveness at the national level. This achievement simultaneously strengthens FKI UMS’s commitment to supporting the development of student competencies thru various avenues of actualization and both academic and non-academic competitions.
